April New Moon and first Solar Eclipse of the year.

April 30th New Moon and the first Solar Eclipse (Partial Surya Grahan) of the year are here!

The Sun is symbolic of the true Self/Awareness we are.
The Moon, with her phases, signifies our sacred Person/Human experience.
We in and as our body-minds are intricately connected to the happenings in the perceived outer cosmos, which acts as a mirror reflecting the dance of the energy held within- individually and collectively.
The eclipsing of the Sun by the Moon from Earth’s perspective is seen as a time where our personal identity with its beliefs and patterns will hold more power and cloud our true nature than on other times.

It’s the very reason in Sanatana Dharma and Vedic Astrology, this day of the Solar Eclipse was considered inauspicious.
As the psyche and its patterns will tend to dominate our thinking and actions at this time, certain precautionary guidelines are suggested.

  • Fast or eat lightly to keep your system at ease and in as much alignment as possible.

  • Be in a meditative state of mind. Chant prayers. Praying to the Sun was highly recommended to help keep our awareness anchored to our higher truth than the usual conditioned familiar mind, which may have a negative bias.

  • Refrain from making any big decisions.

This Solar Eclipse takes place in the Bharani Nakshatra on Shani Amavasya (Saturn New Moon).
Bharani and Saturn both are highly influenced by Lord Yama — The God of Death.
As in Tarot, depending on the perspective we hold, Death (and the Solar Eclipse!) is not a bad thing but a time of new beginnings!
This time supports major breakthroughs and shifts as we let go of what has served but is not serving us anymore.
A time for closing of Karmic cycles where we are invited to allow the natural unfolding of ending/rebirth.

We are celestial beings. Our energetic frequency vibrates and reflects in resonance with the seeming outer cosmos.
The Sun, planets, and stars are all symbols in our awareness that remind us of our true identity and its reflection, which is the unique dance of energies we are on this plane(t).

Surya Gayatri Mantra. सूर्य गायत्री मंत्र

ॐ आदित्याय विद्महे मार्त्तण्डाय धीमहि तन्नः सूर्यः प्रचोदयात् ॥
Om Aadityay Vidhmahe Martanday Dheemahi Tanah: Surya: Prachodyat.

As the sun lights its world, may the light of awareness that we are, illuminate the body-mind world we dream to see/create/live.
